Dreams questioned – Indian NEET paper leak case For hundreds of thousands of aspiring doctors in India, NEET-or the National Eligibility Entrance cum Entrance exam-is the one-and-only test where success is key. Most student spends their childhood, which spans for so many years, solely for the one day this exam is held each year. While taking the popular exam in 2024, people all around the world were in anguish due to the paper leak. It was an examination.
Paper not only released but more importantly an invasion of the trust. A mistrust that you cannot rely on your own will to success – an examination should trust. The leakage scandal first started a couple of days ago when news about an leaked paper and circulated in parts of India a day before the exam. Leaked paper sold by dirty people to students with great greed... When these people heard this, news went round every corner of the nation with so many students disappointed and angry and other individuals too, including those with an interest.
Some question whether their dreams of working successfully at a challenging exam is worthwhile. Very soon the number of protests and marches that called for swift and serious investigation and stringent penalties for everyone involved, the Majority to a repeat exam all across the country and the Apex court too, made it into a national topic. The government of India seemed oblivious to any of the events occurring around it and this also confused hundreds of students as to why no action was been yet.
And just to add to the stress of a few hundred thousand student, the decision of counselor admissions was put off for an unknown duration, the NEET paper leakage also gave out political backlash and was more then any political cause the main cause for which the mind could not rest nor give itself the smallest relief of stress and the hard work put by so many candidates came to useless due to a crime by few individuals. Parents felt stressed as for some few individuals lost all their life, time money that they had put for the child… all got ruined. These issues of the NEET paperleak revealed two things… 1) there is flaws in our Indian education system and… 2) there is a need to have greater level of caution and penalties for the leakage of examination papers and also transparency.. And this proved to be and an extremely important example for the other 100 million candidates seeking success to have been given a fair chance in order to prove to themselves and others what they have, there is importance that can only be achieved in order to bring dreams to fruition if an fair chance in provided in an equal manner for all - soon after the incident reports surfaced, few protests occurred for the NEET exam re conducted all over India with Thousands having signed for reforms - there are also calls to make sure that all individuals that were involved with money or greed are held responsible.
Serious reforms to address examination issues has now taken place, with the central government calling it the biggest disaster with immense suffering to innocent people involved .
